Description

A Scribe's Inkstand. A long box, with lid richly carved, the interior containing the ink pot with a bronze hinged cover, and a receptacle for the pens, together with fragments of bronze belonging to it. L. 12 in., H. 1¾ in. Ebony. Arab period. Fayyûm.
